About Our Business
Pecan Grove Store was built in 1957 by Lawrence Segner across Marschall Creek from the 1800's Segner homestead.
The first building Mr. Segner built was a Sinclair service station, then he added on a store then a garage/shop.
He built a dance floor and band stand in the pecan grove where he had Saturday night dances, a local hub for years. He was a well known German sausage maker.
Matt Martin is now the owner. Born in Texas, he grew up in the Texas Hill Country, was a exchange student in Fredericksburg's sister city Montabaur, Germany and a Fredericksburg High graduate. He attended Texas State University after which he worked in his fathers business and bartended locally. Matt and his father have restored the property as a family project. It has a special place in Matt's dads heart as he use to stop by the store in the 1970's to enjoy a cold beer and sausage on his way to the ranch.
Matt and his dad restored the property, added a motorcycle collection and a motorcycle only campground.
