I don't listen to music while I ride because I get to distracted by the music, but if I did it would have to be AC/DC
And FWIW, it's dangerous if you're listening through the headset or ear phones. And it's inconsiderate to those riding with you; when you turn it up so YOU can hear your music you're forcing your taste in music on those riding with you. I would never say anything to someone since they are within their rights but I would just fall way back or simply get lost at the first opportunity. If at some point they wondered and questioned me only then would I tell them. How they would react is anyone's guess.
Don't really listen when I ride cuz I always have a playlist goin on in my head depending on the situation. Country, curves, hills, highways, oceans, towns, rivers, etc. all seem to inspire a tune from the ole brainbox.
ZZTop most times, or Skynrd, Allman Bros, Fab Thunderbirds, Chris Thile, New Grass Revival, Bach, yeah, I am that eccletic! I have a set of Bose ear buds and an Ipod full of almost anything but rap.
Late reply to this post but here goes! Tough one to answer but I have to go with the Stones, followed closely, and I mean very closely, by ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I don't believe I've ever listened to music when riding. And I don't much care for riding behind someone with their speakers turned up where I get a strong dose of distortion, BUT if'n I was gonna listen to music and could only pick one it'd have to be either John Hiatt, Eric Clapton or Muddy Waters.
I'm with Mike on this one. I have over 300 songs on my iPod. But mostly I don't listen to music when I ride. On long trips only. I really like to groove to the music of the road and wind dancin' to the scenery around me. But if I were to choose the one to listen to over all others.....Skynard would have to be it.
