Heartwarming Moments:
Soup Saturday at Faribault Harley Davidson
A Community Tradition
When winter bites with its icy chill, nothing warms the heart—or the stomach—like a bowl of steaming hot soup. On December 28th, the Faribault Harley Davidson dealership served up just that, hosting its Second Soup Saturday of the season. Their complimentary event welcomed customers to indulge in hearty bowls of cheddar broccoli and chicken wild rice soup, a delicious way to beat the cold while bringing the community together.
The event had a great turnout, thanks in part to milder winter temperatures in the 40s. Customers enjoyed the warm ambiance of the dealership, surrounded by sprawling displays of motorcycles, while savoring their warm meals. For many, it wasn’t just about the food—it was about connecting with others in a welcoming communal atmosphere.
Miranda Gruenhagen, H-D Event Coordinator, spearheaded the gathering, aiming to make Saturdays in December special for customers. In addition to meals, holiday gift-wrapping services were available, adding a festive touch to the day.
Owner Ann Hofmeister saw Soup Saturday as a way to continue her family’s 48-year tradition of using the dealership as a hub for the motorcycle community. “It just sounds warm and comforting,” she shared. “It’s the kind of thing that maybe would drive traffic to come visit and do some shopping with us.”
Ann’s connection to the Harley Davidson legacy runs deep. She took over the dealership from her father, Bob Hofmeister, who began the family’s journey with Harley Davidson in 1977. Her passion for motorcycles and the riding community fuels her commitment to events like these.
For loyal customers like Rock Branderhorst, the dealership is more than a place to shop—it’s a community. Branderhorst, who attended both Soup Saturdays, praised the friendly and accommodating staff. His love for Harley Davidson runs in the family, starting with his parents and continuing with his customized Harley bike, which he’s proudly ridden since the late ’60s.
The success of Soup Saturday is just the beginning for Faribault Harley Davidson’s winter events. Next up is the 14th annual Casino Night on January 18, featuring games, live music, food, and drinks. It’s a reminder that the dealership isn’t just a store; it’s a cornerstone of the local motorcycle community, offering warmth, camaraderie, and plenty of reasons to visit—even in the heart of winter.
