The 11th Annual “Ride for the Red” motorcycle run will be held August 31st of Labor Day weekend to raise funds for the Service to the Armed Forces program of the American Red Cross’ Finger Lakes Chapter. This ride is supported by the Arkport-Corning HOG (Harley Owners Group) chapter and Arkport Cycles, and is in honor of local Veterans and Gold Star families from all wars.

“Ride for the Red” will be held from the American Legion at 45 Olcott Road S, Big Flats, NY 14814. The ride leaves at 10:30 AM sharp and will be led by NYS motorcycle troopers through the beautiful Finger Lakes Region.

Pre-registration “on-line” is highly recommended at www.CorningRideForTheRed.org - deadline is Aug. 20th. On-site registration runs from 8:30 to 10:00 AM.

The pre-registration cost is $25 for the rider and $25 for the passenger. A specially designed shirt is included for pre-registered riders and passengers. T-shirts will not be available the day of the ride, so be sure to pre-register online to guarantee you get one. A meal is included for all participants.

The perpetual Chapter Challenge Award, similar to the Stanley Cup, will be awarded to the club with the most number of participating members. This award will be re-presented at future “Ride for the Red” events. The award is on display at Arkport Cycles in Arkport, NY.

The American Red Cross will also hold a blood drive at the Big Flats American Legion on Saturday, 8/31, from 1 to 5 PM.
