Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 3rd Annual Vintage Motorcycle Show along Route 6A, historic and scenic Old Kings Highway, in Barnstable Village on Sunday, September 25 from 10AM to 2PM. This family-friendly event will be free to Show attendees (fee for exhibitors). Eligible vintage motorcycles must be at least 35 years old (pre-1980 or older) but exhibitor participation will be limited to the first 1oo registered motorcycles so early registration is strongly suggested to ensure space. Route 6A will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 10AM for Show setup. Registration fee will be $10 and can include up to three motorcycles per exhibitor. Show proceeds will be used to cover operational costs for this not-for-profit event. For a whole new generation of motorcyclists, the Show is a Cape doorway to a simpler time of air-cooled motors, classic designs and laid-back competition, where having fun with friends and families is more important than collecting trophies. Whether one is a vintage motorcycle enthusiast, looking for a fun-filled family activity or simply want to learn more about these intriguing vehicles, the Show will be a great way to get out in the beautiful autumn weather and offers a beautiful venue to meet old and new friends, have a great lunch, do some shopping or sightseeing. Set against the venerable backdrop of one of Cape Cod’s most historic and picturesque villages, families with children will thrill to the sight of 100 vintage motorcycles lined up for viewing. After viewing participating motorcycles, nearby attendees will enjoy Barnstable Village sights, attractions, activities, dining and shopping venues all along this beloved stretch of roadway. Nearby are also Barnstable Harbor, Millway Beach and Great Marsh all in their early autumnal beauty. Also nearby are numerous cranberry bogs, likely actively harvesting cranberries, truly a sight to behold.
