The Green Mountain Motorcycle Ride began in 2003 when two brothers found out that their aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout their lives the brothers had loved to ride motorcycles, although truth be known their aunt was not very supportive of their passion in this area. Their aunt worried that motorcycles would take the boys away from her, and now it was the boys' turn to worry that she might be taken from them - by cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis the brothers concluded that they could channel their passion for riding into raising money for a cure for cancer. Thus, the Green Mountain Motorcycle Ride was born.

All money raised by the ride stays here at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center to support world-class research, state-of-the-art equipment, critical education programs and innovative clinical trials that help save lives of cancer patients all over the world. As one of only 45 Comprehensive Cancer Centers, as designated by the National Cancer Institute, Norris Cotton Cancer Center is one of the finest research and treatment institutions in the entire country.
