our last WW1 vet died a few years ago....sadly...but then they can't go on forever. Funny now, well not so funny that it started over 98 years ago.

I have always held our Military Veterans in high esteem. My mother was in the Army Nurse Corp at the end of WWII, her brothers all served at one time or another. But it wasn't until the bugler played taps at my Father-in-law's funeral that it really hit me. He served in the European theater in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Some of my proudest moments have been when two of our sons played taps at Memorial Day and Veteran's Day ceremonies, tears streaming down their faces as they played, not only for all veterans, but for their Grampa.
