So out riding the New Old Girl ( my 66 Shovel generator) often lately as I seem to enjoy a nice leisure putt going no where and doing nothing on her the best. Was out a few days ago and had been about 80 miles when I stopped for gas in this town. When leaving on the other side of town and hit a place to open her up a little. When I did open her up a little I heard a thunk... I instantly looked to my right side to see that my top of the bubble bag had blown off. I turned around and picked it up. All scared from hitting the road. Which is now it is going to cost me with the paint man. But I had to think of a way to keep this from happening again. I had been warned theat the bubble bags are notrious for this. But hubris me thought if I was gentle with her it would not happen to me... All the old timers said they just use to bungie strap them down. This was not an acceptable fix for me so did a little research and discovered a quick and simple fix. A dollar and change in money spent, and maybe two minutes to drill the little hole for the small hitch pin. I think it took me longer to find the drill bit then to drill the hole. But to save the paint and the lids from going air born again or worse getting ran over and totaled busted up.

maybe it's time to repaint both bags? or good excuse to.
I enjoy when I read about riders fixes, some of mine were inspired by others fixes on problems.
