In the nation’s capital on Wednesday, renewed hope was given to millions of Americans as more than 1.2 million bikers descended upon the city in a show of solidarity and respect for those souls lost during the terrorist attacks of 9/11 in 2001 and the one-year mark of the murders of American personnel in Benghazi, Libya.
Initially, the 2 Million Bikers to DC ride was started in response to the One Million Muslims March that was scheduled to take place on September 11; that event ended up changing their name to Million American March Against Fear when the public backlash became so strong.
“The lack of coverage by the mainstream media was unbelievable,” said Sandi Battefeld Morrison. “And a lot of the coverage via the net was incorrect but at least they tried. Thank goodness for Facebook and other social media. Although, a lot of us didn’t ride today we were with the bikers every inch of the way. They gave a renewed hope to America.
