Love Ride 2012 has raised over $440 000 for the USO
This past Sunday I was at the 29th annual Love Ride in the Los Angeles, California area. Close to 5000 riders attended the event - the longest running one day motorcycle charity event in the world and to raise $440 000 I would have to say it was quite a success and what better charity to raise money for then the USO. Thousands and thousands of troops - many if not most still quite young are returning home from war and have a hell of a time trying to get their lives back to normal. The USO is there to help and I feel it is incredibly important to support our troops!
In 29 yrs the Love Ride has raised over 24 million for a variety of charities. Grand Marshal Jay Leno, Honorary Grand Marshals Peter Fonda and Robert Patrick, Founder and Chairmen Oliver Shokouh, and Honorary Chairmen Willie G. Davidson were there leading the festivities which included an early morning rev up at Glendale Harley-Davidson, including a concert by Strawberry Alarm Clock, the event then moved up to Castaic Lake where participants were treated to motorcycle rally vendors, food and concerts including the headliner George Thorogood and the Destroyers.
Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys were the official attorney sponsor and while backstage we had the luck of meeting Lucky from Cyclefish. It was great to meet you Lucky and we look forward to seeing you again!!!
Russ Brown.
