My brother & I rode the length of the BRP from the northern end to the southern end near Cherokee NC after which we did a few local roads and then joined in on the Trail Of Tears Memorial Ride.
If you ever take a trip to the Tail Of The Dragon, I highly recommend the Two Wheel Inn. It is owned by some great people who designed it specifically for bikers. Each room gets a "garage" for their bike.
